Guided Imagery & Music

The Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music is a music-centered, consciousness-expanding therapy developed by Helen Bonny. Therapists trained in the Bonny Method choose classical music sequences that stimulate journeys of the imagination. Experiencing imagery in this way facilitates clients’ integration of mental, emotional, physical and spiritual aspects of well-being.

EMDR

“Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and panic disorders…”

I began my training in EMDR in 2019, and became certified in 2021. I pursued this training after hearing so many positive experiences from clients whom had previously received treatment for childhood trauma. Becoming an EMDR-certified practitioner and finding ways to integrate IFS (Internal Family Systems) has impacted my practice, my role as a therapist, and my understanding of your brain’s resilience in significant ways. I am also a Consultant In Training (CIT) and can provide consultation hours for clinicians seeking EMDR certification.

Consultation

Learning and growing as a clinician should be an ongoing part of any therapist’s career path. Our therapists are both licensed to provide supervision hours for pre-licensure requirements. Deanna is a Consultant in Training (CIT) for EMDR clinicians seeking certification.

Please reach out if you have more questions about supervision, including cost and availability for group supervision.

Collaborators

Christina Marrero, ATR, LPC

As a queer, neurodivergent, BIPOC therapist, I specialize in supporting Autistic and ADHD adults, as well as those dealing with anxiety and recovering from spiritual or religious trauma. My approach combines Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), psychodynamic art therapy, and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), allowing me to tailor therapy to each client's unique needs. I aim to provide a compassionate, affirming space for clients to embrace their authentic selves and heal past wounds. Based in Philadelphia, I offer in-person and virtual therapy, including innovative tools like virtual reality and therapeutic gaming, and I advocate for their use in mental health care.

Art Therapy

No artistic talent is necessary for art therapy to succeed, because the therapeutic process is not about the artistic value of the work, but rather about finding associations between the creative choices made and a client’s inner life. The artwork can be used as a springboard for reawakening memories and telling stories that may reveal messages and beliefs from the unconscious mind.
